A detached house for sale in Upton

Good afternoon one and all, I hope you have had a good week. If, like me, you have found it rather tiring being back at work for the first full week, why don’t you kick back for a few minutes and have a read of my latest Ralph’s Review of a fabulous family home in Upton.

There has been a lot of activity at Rickitt Partnership this week with everyone dashing out to viewings and market appraisals left, right and centre! In the midst of it all I took myself off to Upton to take a look at 59 Upton Lane. Arriving in this very popular family-orientated suburb of Chester, I found myself outside an attractive detached house. I noted with interest that the driveway is imprinted concrete. On my travels I have picked up a smattering of knowledge of construction and materials (amazing what one learns on the “Pukka Pugs” quiz team!) and so I know that this is incredibly hard-wearing as well as very attractive to look at.

The front garden abounded with wonderful sights and smells which enticed me away from the task in hand for a few minutes. After a delightful bit of downtime exuberantly charging here and there, I gathered myself together and headed to the front door. Inside I found myself in an entrance porch which then led into a hall. I noted with approval the wooden flooring which is practical enough to be easily wiped clean of muddy pawprints whilst also being stylish and welcoming.

Standing in the hall, I saw an enticing array of doors in front of me – which to explore first? Choosing the door to my right I found myself in a very appealing dining room. I especially loved the attractive bay window and the real treat, in my eyes, was the Edwardian style fireplace with an open fire. I could not think of anything better than curling up in front of a roaring fire waiting to be fed morsels of roast chicken from the dining table – that is the life every pug should aspire to!

My next stop was the sitting room which is a really good-sized room. I especially loved the sliding patio doors which open out to the garden – how convenient, my human brother could play catch with me without having to leave the comfort of the sofa. I could happily gambol around the garden and then deposit my ball back with him for another throw!

With a sign of satisfaction, I carried on my merry way with my next stop being the kitchen. It boasts crisp white units and granite effect work surfaces and also has an area which could be used as a dining area or a snug. All in all the kitchen has a very spacious and sociable feel.

Further doors off the kitchen beckoned me on and with a sense of anticipation I continued my explorations. I found a utility room, a shower room and an office tucked away at the back of the house. What a perfect place for an office – secluded and quiet but close enough to the kitchen to allow for regular bonio snacks! (It is a well-known fact that snacks help boost the concentration – at least that is what I constantly tell my humans!)

Finding my way back to the hall I bounded enthusiastically up the stairs to the first floor. The light flooding in from the window by the stairs made it feel very cosy and homely.

My first stop was the family bathroom where I was delighted to find a corner bath – one of my favourite things in the whole world. With thoughts of floating in a sea of bubble bath, I wandered around the rest of the first floor where I found four good-sized bedrooms and a playroom.

Noticing another set of stairs at the farther end of the landing I saw an opportunity to improve my step count on my “fitpug” and so I enthusiastically launched myself into 10 reps of the stairs before collapsing in a heap at the top. Once I had caught my breath I looked around and was delighted to find myself in a lovely attic room. In the spirit of my “new year, new pug” fitness regime I thought this could work well as my own personal gym.

Before I left 59 Upton Lane I headed outside to explore the garden. Importantly, the large expanse of lawn would offer me all the space I would need to play with my numerous squeaky toys, balls and frisbees.

There is no doubt that this property ticks all the boxes for a growing family – it offers oodles of space both inside and out and is in a fabulous location. So, if you are looking for more space for you and your pups, 59 Upton Lane is a must see. Call myself or my team on 01244 322322 and we would be delighted to book you in for a viewing.

Until next time

Spring may have been a bit slow in arriving however, on my walks this week I couldn’t help but admire the bluebells which are in full bloom now.  As I walked through aptly named “Bluebell woods” it seemed like a carpet of purple had been laid beneath the trees – just beautiful, so I have faith that those dreamy days of summer are just around the corner! To keep my spirits raised through the recent endless spells of rain, the RP team sent me off to review not one but… Read more
