Rickitt Partnership

Our History

Our history began almost 30 years ago

Tim began his career in estate agency in 1991 working for John Eccles in Knutsford, Cheshire. He then went on to work in Altrincham and Sale in South Manchester. Having earnt his stripes with a good professional grounding in agency, he relocated to West London where he worked for a large group agency becoming one of their top performing senior negotiators. Upon moving back to Cheshire in 1996 Tim joined a multi group agency based in Wilmslow. He was responsible for setting up their successful prestige department and, later that same year, he moved to their head office in Chester to replicate the success there.

In 1998, driven by his very clear vision of what an exceptional agency should be, Tim set up his own estate agency in Chester, called Rickitt Grant.  The business rapidly achieved great success and in the first full year of trading it won The NAEA Best Independent Estate Agent in the North West Award. From this foundation the profile of the business grew exponentially and in May 2007, the agency was bought by Savills. After consulting for Savills for a year, Tim left to pursue other interests, including living in New Zealand for three and half years.

The call of estate agency eventually proved too strong however and in 2013 Tim was ready to take on new challenges which saw him setting up a prestige department for another multi group agency covering Cheshire and the Wirral, followed by a tenure working for a small independent agent.  Fast forward to 2017 and Tim felt it was time to set up his own agency once again so, with his wife Emma, he founded Rickitt Partnership.  Their priority is to provide the kind of service that they would wish to receive from an agent – personalised, committed and responsive.  Tim’s extensive experience and local knowledge combined with Emma’s background working for London law firms and in branding consultancy ensures that they deliver the effectiveness and enthusiasm a small independent agent should.  Both Tim and Emma are always ready to listen to vendors’ and purchasers’ requirements and tailor their service to individual needs.

Special Note

Tim would like to apologise for his taste in haircuts and glasses in his younger years! He thought at the time he was “cool”. He now knows that this was and never will be the case.
