Nantwich

Situated on the River Weaver, this medieval market town has one of the highest concentrations of listed buildings in England, the Crown Hotel, as an example, was rebuilt in 1585. Its history, including a famous civil war battle on 25th January 1644, gives Nantwich a great atmosphere which its contemporary and quirky shops, boutiques and restaurants add to.  The beautiful Welsh Row leads into the town and boast some stunning period properties from the Tudor and Georgian periods.  Nantwich also sits on the Shropshire Union Canal which give another point of interest and sightseeing to this historic gem of a town.
