Heading out and about with my mum and dad this week I have noticed that the trees are beginning to change colour and my evening walk is getting earlier as the nights start to draw in. Time is marching relentlessly on towards Autumn and my thoughts are turning to snuffling through fallen leaves and chasing conkers!
Dragging my thoughts away from Autumn games and back to the serious business of work, I thought I would bring you up to date with my latest property review. Earlier in the week I trundled off to the village of Mickle Trafford to explore a delightful five bedroom detached family home. Dad and I headed out of the city and he explained that we were taking one of the main commuter roads from Chester. This road also leads to the motorway networks – rather handy, I thought, if you were heading off to the National Dogs in Estate Agency convention (or, better yet, heading off to the International Dog Conker Chasing Championships and needed to get to the airport fast!). Before I had too long to think about my prowess as a conker chaser, we were turning off the main road and I caught my first glimpse of 1 Barnston Court. It is a stylish modern house that boasts a symmetry of design that I found very aesthetically pleasing – I never knew that I needed such balance in my life!
Getting out of the car I trotted up the path to the centrally positioned front door. From there I stepped into an entrance hall which is very imposing, with a central staircase that leads off to both left and right on the landing. Looking up, my natural exuberance caused me to puzzle over whether to explore left or right.
But first thing first, a full exploration of the ground floor was in order. Off to the right of the hallway I found a dining room which enjoys light flooding in through two good-sized windows. My next stop was the sitting room which is a rather large room. There are a set of glazed French doors out into the garden which I thought was a fabulous touch – I am very partial to watching Wimbledon in the summer (watching all those tennis balls flying backwards and forwards can give a pug an overload of excitement though!) but I always think that Wimbledon should be accompanied by the smell of freshly mown grass, and with the French doors open on those glorious summer days, that will be entirely possible.
Turning round, I was intrigued to see two sets of double doors one leading into the dining room and another into the open plan kitchen/diner. Now there’s an idea - open both sets of double doors and I would have a complete circuit around the ground floor of the house. There would be absolutely no need to leave the house in order to stay fit – simply perfect!
My next stop was the kitchen which is a lovely, large, open plan room, and I was delighted to see that this also has French doors opening to the garden.
Before I headed upstairs I found a conveniently located cloakroom and a good sized study. I thought that, as I am looking to attend the conker chasing world championships, I could probably do with swotting up on the subject – this room would be the perfect space to house a veritable library of books on the subject.
With enthusiasm I trotted up the stairs and if you placed a bet on right then you were, pardon the pun, right! On this side of the landing I found two bedrooms both with en suite shower rooms, whilst on the other side of the landing I found a further three bedrooms and a family bathroom.
Wandering back down the stairs, I mused to myself that 1 Barnston Court really is an impressively large family home that would comfortably accommodate a full litter of pups.
Outside there is a lawned area both at the front and the back of the house – perfect for my obligatory game of catch. The icing on the cake came with the double garage which has a downstairs shower room which leads up to a studio. Dad said that this could be used as an office or a gym, I personally prefer to think of it as a space where I could listen to “Dog Eat Dog” by ACDC as I have recently discovered a penchant for heavy rock. All in all, 1 Barnston Court has a huge amount to offer. If this could be your perfect new home, give me a call on 01244 322322 to arrange a viewing
Until next time
