Are you excited for Christmas yet? I am and I am really hoping that Santa is kind enough to bring me some of the things on my list. Most especially I am wishing for a squeaky toy chicken which smells like a roast dinner (yum) and a large selection box of doggie treats! After my visit to No 3 The Warehouse this week, I am also tempted to add a contemporary city apartment to the list, although Santa may struggle with getting that down the chimney!
Before venturing out into the brisk wintery weather, I donned a newly-purchased onesie to keep me nice and cosy. Feeling warm as toast, I took the short walk from the Rickitt Partnership office on Bridge Street to Volunteer Street where The Warehouse, a chic complex of contemporary apartments, is located. I was set to see one of the only two apartments in the complex that are still for sale, No.3. Now I would just like to point out that it is written into the head lease for the apartment complex that pets are not allowed in The Warehouse. However, the developer very kindly welcomed me in so that I could write a fair and impartial review from my discerning pug’s eye view.
Approaching the outside of the building I was impressed by the stylish, contemporary feel and thoroughly approved of the efficient electronic entry system. Who needs to start fumbling with keys when you are just back from a walk in the damp and dreary winter weather?
No.3 is a first floor apartment so, once inside the building, I marched purposefully up the stairs and, turning right, found myself at my destination. From the front door, I headed down the corridor into a light and bright open plan living/kitchen area.
Perfect for contemporary, social living it was easy to picture the place full of my friends from the local dog walking club. The beauty is that with the sleek, up to the minute kitchen units incorporated into the same space, I could happily chat along with my friends whilst cooking them a sumptuous meal of liver and kidneys – possibly with a side of fava beans and a nice glass of chianti.
Heading back down the corridor towards the front door I was keen to explore the two good-sized double bedrooms which are situated one on either side of the corridor.
The master bedroom has an en suite shower room and there is also a lovely separate bathroom. I am reliably informed that they are both fitted out to the highest specifications from CP Hart.
Having had a grand time exploring No 3 The Warehouse, I left the apartment and…. headed upstairs. The icing on the cake is that, not only does this lovely city centre home enjoy two secure off road parking spaces but it also benefits from a wonderful roof terrace space.
With great views over the city this would be the perfect place for a summer BBQ, stretched out on a sun lounger, enjoying some rays, with bacon and sausages sizzling on the grill – WOOF WOOF is all I have to say to that!
No 3 the Warehouse is the epitome of chic contemporary city living and there is no denying that I am quite taken with the idea of being “the pug about town”. However, I do think that a pre-requisite for city centre living would be an entirely new wardrobe of colour co-ordinated pug coats and harnesses, Dad, where’s your credit card?....
