I may be a little presumptuous but I feel that Spring is on the way. Whilst exploring on my walks I have been excited to see that there are snowdrops appearing everywhere, offering a tantilising taste of what is to come. The mornings and evenings are steadily getting lighter offering more opportunities for a lively little pug to get out and about, which is exactly what I did this week as I headed to Belgrave Park to review a detached family home.
My half term holiday is now over and I am back in the office, ready for my next adventure. With that in mind I thought I would strike whilst the iron is hot and set off to review our latest property, No 5 Clarendon Close.
Leaving the office on foot, I headed over the old Dee Bridge into Handbridge and then on to Belgrave Park. It was a lovely walk with plenty of interesting sights and smells to investigate and, despite distractions, door to door it took me about 15 minutes.
I found myself on a very pleasant Close within this highly desirable residential backwater of Chester. Clarendon Close truly does offer the best of both worlds, a peaceful haven which is within walking distance of the city centre. Standing on the paved driveway I thought approvingly that both Mum and Dad’s cars could fit comfortably on it. In addition, there is a good-sized double garage so plenty of space for even more cars! Approaching the sky blue front door, I was full of anticipation to see the inside of this appealing detached house.
Entering the tastefully decorated hall I was immediately struck with a welcoming feeling of calm and looking up I spotted a velux window which ensures it is also a very light space. The wooden floor of the hall is a wonderful feature and is in fabulous condition, so much so that I was able to pause to admire my reflection in it whilst simultaneously taking note to walk with care lest I should fall flat on my face!
Directly in front of me was a downstairs cloakroom and turning left I found myself in a spacious dining area. This appeared to be the hub of this lovely home. Again, a very light and airy room, it leads off to the sitting room on one side and the kitchen on the other, whilst double doors at the end of the room flow into a conservatory.
The conservatory and garden are west facing so this is the perfect place to catch the late afternoon and evening sun. As luck would have it, it was now late afternoon and a few rays of wintery sunshine were bathing the sofa cushions in a delicious warmth that was too good to resist…. Forty winks later I roused myself and looked out across the attractive garden, making a mental note to explore it later.
My next stop was the sitting room which I was delighted to find is also a very light room, benefitting as it does from two large windows. With a sigh of satisfaction, I trotted through to the kitchen. Here I found a high specification kitchen with a multitude of storage units – perfect to house all my “pug paraphernalia”.
Beyond the kitchen there is a utility room. I imagine that humans may be impressed by the fact that it is furnished with units which match those in the kitchen. However, the item that I homed in on was the heated towel rail, clearly this offers another cosy sleep opportunity for a (rather spoilt) pug! Picturing a fluffy dog bed positioned against the towel rail which would enable me to dry off in comfort after my adventures, I grinned to myself before heading back to the dining area and trotting up the stairs to the first floor.
This really is a very spacious and practical home with four good-sized bedrooms and a family bathroom. The master bedroom has an en-suite shower room
and the current owners use the fourth bedroom as a home office. Not a bad idea I mused, this could be the perfect space to run my estate agency empire from.
With thoughts of world domination (the world of estate agency!) on my mind, I headed back down the stairs and went to explore the outside space. What I found were two patio areas and a good sized lawn – a perfect place for playing catch with my ever accommodating humans!
5 Clarendon Close is a really delightful house that would suit any number of potential buyers – those with young pups through to those whose pugsters have flown the nest. This house would suit them all. With the added benefit of being situated in a peaceful location yet close to the amenities of Chester city centre, what is there not to love! If 5 Clarendon Close sounds like the house for you then give me a call on 01244 322 322 and I would be delighted to make an appointment for you to see it.
Happy house hunting
