Every day at Rickitt Partnership is a new experience which, as a pug with a zest for life, I thoroughly enjoy. This week saw me visiting a new build detached house in the delightful village of Kelsall.
I heard that there are still some finishing touches to be finalised at 2 Woodland Rise and I was ecstatic at the thought of having to don a hard hat and high-vis vest for my visit. Disappointingly, I was told that this was not necessary as the build is virtually completed. On the plus side I was informed that appropriate footwear would be sensible, so I felt very smug slipping my paws into my newly-purchased pug-sized rigger boots!
Appropriately dressed, I swaggered out the office – no longer a pampered pooch, I was transformed into the Bear Grylls of the dog world. The journey to Kelsall passed very quickly and no sooner had I distracted myself by chewing my own laces and inadvertently untying my boots, than I looked up to find myself outside a fabulous and expansive contemporary new build home.
I reluctantly contained my excitement whilst dad retied my shoe laces and then I launched myself out the car and up to the house. Curiosity side-tracked me and I made a beeline to a set of spectacular bifolding doors. Conveniently, these were open and so I stepped inside to find myself in a fabulous open plan room. The kitchen, fitted out with contemporary units and a centre island is at one end of the room and has double glazed double doors out into the garden, whilst the space I was standing in was vast and would probably be used as a family room and dining area. I can imagine it filled with noise and laughter, mum and her friends drinking wine and chatting at the centre island in the kitchen, and my human brother in the family room with his friends, not chatting at all but animatedly texting each other! Peering through the glass of the bifolding doors from this angle I suddenly realised what spectacular views Woodland Rise has – gosh what fabulous walks right on your doorstep.
Adventuring further into the house I found a large and practical utility room off the kitchen, a cloakroom off the hall as well as no less than 2 additional reception rooms – I was delighted to find that one of these rooms, the drawing room, also has bifolding doors and it was easy to picture this as a more formal room in which to entertain guests – with the bifolding doors open my friends from dog agility classes would have a whale of a time socialising inside and out. On the opposite side of the hallway I found the perfect man-and-pug cave. This reception room is almost as large as the drawing room and has a small room leading off it which we could loosely call a “study” aka a great place to store my dad and I’s extensive collection of DVDs. Then the plan would be to cosy up for some quality boy time on a large L-shaped sofa and watch films and American TV series to our hearts’ content.
Upstairs delivered equally as much as downstairs, both in terms of space and a feeling of contemporary, clean living. Pottering around I found no less than five bedrooms, three of which have en suite showers as well as a family bathroom - I did need to have a little bit of vision as the bathroom and shower suites have not been fitted yet but casting my expert eye around the whole build and the finishes, I know they won’t disappoint.
Outside I was given a guided tour by the developer (I felt very important) and he explained to me that outside the double garage there will be parking space for more cars and there will be two paved terrace areas with the rest of the garden laid to lawn. This will be just delightful, my family would love nothing better than sitting on the terrace outside the family room, with glass of wine in hand, looking out over the spectacular views with me sleeping peacefully at their feet - the perfect family tableau.
In my humble opinion, 2 Woodland Rise is an exciting addition to Cheshire’s property market and I have no doubt that it will be snapped up by a discerning buyer who wants a quality family home in one of the best locations in Cheshire.
Until next time
