Well what a busy week this has been, we have been super busy with viewings and valuations – exciting times, but I have to say that I am in need of a little R and R. Just before I sign off for the week though, I thought I would bring you my review of a fabulous family house in the popular area of Abbots Park.
In-between viewings in and around our great city of Chester, I took the time for a little detour to cast my discerning pug’s eye over a stylish three storey, four bedroom detached house. Trotting along with my dad in tow, we soon found ourselves within a small development of stylish contemporary houses within the popular enclave of Abbots Park. Stopping outside 12 Gilwern Close, I gazed up and my eye was immediately caught by a balcony and terrace on the first floor, what a delightful little sun trap that looked to be. Enthusiasm got the better of me and I bounded up the path and in through the front door, nearly knocking dad off his feet in the process.
An attractive hallway led me in to a spacious family room – as I wandered around, sniffing and exploring every corner, my claws clattered delightfully on the wooden flooring. With such a stylish yet practical and hard-wearing floor I decided that this would make an excellent TV or playroom for the pups in your life.
My next stop was the kitchen and dining area which, with contemporary kitchen units, sleek white tiles on the floor, and gorgeous patio doors opening on to the decking area beyond, is the perfect socialising space. I could imagine that I would be hosting more than my fair share of our regular “friends-round Fridays”!
I could live with that I thought as I ambled back out into the hallway and took myself up the stairs to the first floor. My first port of call was the sitting room at the front of the house, and that balcony which I had spied from outside. To my delight I realised that this aspect of the house is south facing – no prizes for guessing where I would be spending my time on a sunny day – yup, snuggled up on a pug-sized daybed, with half an eye on the local wildlife (cats!) as they go about their day.
Exploring the rest of this floor I found a lovely, good-sized bedroom and a jack and jill shower-room. What great fun this gave me, I spent a good ten minutes tearing through the bedroom, into the shower room, out on to the landing and round again, and again, and again! I had to have a quick sit down as I was feeling rather dizzy!
Onwards and upwards I went, to the second floor where I found three further bedrooms, one with an en suite bathroom and I also discovered a family bathroom. In the master bedroom I rather coveted the fabulous fitted wardrobes which are so large they may even be able to accommodate all my mum’s clothes, shoes, boots, handbags, scarves…, well almost… I have to say that I did rather fall in love with the other two bedrooms on this floor – with angled doors off the landing, they are full of character.
Bounding back downstairs I decided it was time to explore the outside of 12 Gilwern Close. The space at the back of the house has been cleverly designed to be super low maintenance with a variety of decking and paved areas that would allow me to follow the sun’s progress through the day. Even better, I wouldn’t have to give over any valuable sleeping time to gardening! Before I left Abbot’s Park, I popped my head into the fabulous double garage confirming that there would be plenty of space for both my mum and my dad’s cars – perfect.
All in all 12 Gilwern Close is a fabulous, low-maintenance home which would perfectly suit the needs of a busy, working family – modern living has never worked so well….. If you think this could be your family’s new home, give me or my team a call and we would be delighted to book a viewing for you.
Until next time
