Ralph reviews a family home in Rossett

The snow has thawed, which I find pleasing and disappointing in equal measure! It is comforting to know that all four paws will not now be travelling in different directions on the ice; yet on the other paw, it was great fun bounding through the powdery snow! Anyway, my humans are hopeful that a return to Spring will be just around the corner and I am inclined to agree that a spot of sunshine would be very welcome. With this optimistic thought in mind, it was with great enthusiasm that I set off to review another new instruction – a lovely family home in the charming village of Rossett.

My dad and I drove to Rossett and I enjoyed the 20 minute journey immensely, as I took full advantage of the heated seats in the car for a very cosy power nap! Drawing up outside 29 Rossett Park, I yawned, stretched and had a jolly good shake before taking a look at my surroundings. I found myself in front of a very attractive and welcoming family house. The first thing that struck me was the size of the lovely large windows at the front of the house. They offered the promise of blissfully light rooms, not to mention the fact that they would be great vantage points to watch the neighbourhood goings on from. I observed that no local pooch, postman or delivery driver would escape my attention here. My second thought was that the single car garage and large parking area would offer plenty of space for my mum and dad’s cars, as well as for my human brother when he starts to drive in a few years’ time.

Once through the front door, I found myself in a hallway which leads off to the drawing room, the kitchen and a very useful downstairs cloakroom. Turning left into the drawing room, I was satisfied to see that the attractive large window does indeed create a light, airy and very appealing space. This good-sized room would be the perfect place for the whole family – mum, dad and a couple of pups – to spend time together.

My next stop was the modern and well configured kitchen and utility room. The kitchen offers a wealth of storage facilities, modern appliances and space for a very large fridge and freezer. Thoughts of the homemade frozen doggie treats I could make came to mind, sumptuous recipes from celebrity chef, James (Bob to his friends!) Martin - frozen yoghurt-dipped strawberries and peanut butter pup-sicles – yummy!

The kitchen is open to the dining/sitting room. With attractive wooden flooring, more large windows and French doors which open into the garden, it is a space which lends itself to modern family living.

I could easily picture my family here, dad cooking dinner, mum reading in the sitting room and my brother doing his homework at the dining room table – I could keep an eye on all of them at the same time, this would make me a very happy pug!

Trotting up the stairs from the hallway, I found that the first floor was equally well-configured and perfect for a modern family. The master bedroom is a fantastic size and boasts a lovely en-suite shower room.

There are also three other bedrooms, one of which is currently used as an office

and a great family bathroom.

Tucked away on the landing is a built-in airing cupboard. My nearest and dearest would know that this would become “Ralph’s Room” when I need a little Me Time.

As I left the house I took a detour to investigate the garden. I found a decking area just outside the French windows, which is perfect for summer’s evening alfresco dining, whilst the rest of the garden is lawned. I always carry my most essential toys in my “pugsack” and I just couldn’t resist, out came my trusty squeaky ball for a quick game of catch. So I can confirm with some authority that this is a garden fit for game playing!

29 Rossett Park ticks every box for a modern family looking for a home which will cater to so many needs throughout so many stages of life. If you are looking for a home for your pups to grow up in, this little pug recommends a viewing.

With Love
