Well, I do hope you are wrapped up nice and warm on this exceptionally chilly day – brrr. On occasion I feel slightly embarrassed to wear my various “pug coats” but mum insists…. However, today I am rather grateful for my fleece-lined “pug-over”. I do like to start the week with a visit to one of our lovely properties and I was especially excited today to explore the converted stable block to Backford Hall.
For a change I was chaperoned today by my colleague, John, who, I am pleased to note, drove with impeccable skill to Backford. As we turned in to Backford Park I saw that The Suffolk is situated in a charming semi-rural location whilst benefitting from being part of Backford Park’s micro-community. Hopping out the car I saw a lovely period property in front of me, with decorative brickwork, stone window surrounds and a gorgeous arched front door. Allowing myself to grow a few millimetres in stature (at my height a few millimetres makes all the difference!) I swaggered up to the front door, imagining myself to be every bit the country squire’s pug.
On the other side of the door I found myself in a super stylish contemporary kitchen hall. I just loved the light coloured units and worksurfaces which gave a really fresh and contemporary feel. The karndean flooring looks fabulous and would be super practical too. I would not need to worry about coming inside straight from a walk, a quick towel dry of my paws and I would be off!
Keen to continue my explorations I found a very convenient downstairs cloakroom tucked to one side before taking the door to the sitting room. What a lovely welcoming and large space which could easily accommodate a living and dining area.
Heading up the stairs at an enthusiastic gallop I arrived on a cosy landing and popped my head round the doors of no less than three gorgeous bedrooms. One of them has an en suite shower room which I would commandeer for myself, although, that said, the family bathroom is beautifully designed and I do have a penchant for baths….
Before I left The Suffolk, I had a gambol around the garden which is mainly lawned so perfect for the game of catch I inflicted upon John.
As I hopped back into the car I noticed a garage for one car as well. The Suffolk really does have so much to offer, it would be perfect for a couple with a young family who would like a period home with contemporary décor and styling in a semi-rural location.
Until next time
