I don’t know whether I am being a bit optimistic but I’m starting to detect some faint hints of Spring in the air. This morning the sun shone brightly over Cheshire, the birds seemed in good voice and my highly tuned nose sensed trees and plants starting to come to life. Oh the promise of glorious bursts of colour adorning the countryside in a few short months time – I can hardly wait! Luckily I have my very important work at Rickitt Partnership to keep me busy in the meantime.
Today my minions (the team at RP!) updated me with regard to my diary commitments and I was thrilled to discover I was off to one of the most exclusive suburbs of Chester, Curzon Park, to review a family home which, I was assured, would thoroughly charm me. “Well” I thought with enthusiasm “that sounds right up my street” and without further ado I set off, hauling dad in tow. As it was such a nice day we decided to take a walk to 20 Selkirk Road. On our way there it struck me that there are plenty of routes around and about which would be perfect for walking, running or even cycling – good to know – let’s face it, we are all keen to get out of our homes and exercise in the great outdoors these days.
Before I knew it, dad and I came to a halt outside a very attractive looking semi-detached house perfectly situated in a corner plot.
The house looked so welcoming, I knew that the RP team were right – I was about to be thoroughly enamoured with this property. I trotted down a path to the front door and stepping inside I found myself in a lovely hallway complete with a beautiful wooden floor. At one end of the hall I noticed a conveniently located cloakroom before I making my way over to a door to my left where I discovered a delightful sitting room – the contemporary styling and oak floor perfectly complementing the log burner set inside a gorgeous and rather ornate fire surround. With large windows flooding the room with light, it felt just so spacious and airy, yet at the same time comfortingly cosy. It took no effort at all to imagine myself snuggled up on mum’s lap in front of the log burner, enjoying some quiet time together.
Heading back to the hall I next took a door to the right and found myself in an equally bright and thoroughly convivial dining room – the type of room which lends itself to family gatherings and relaxed evenings with friends (when we are allowed of course!).
The kitchen was my next stop and I was not surprised to find that this also has a contemporary feel to it with white units and sleek slate-effect work surfaces. The only potential issue I foresaw was being told off by mum for leaving pawprints on the unit doors when I hopefully “ask” for food – I find it completely unconscionable for family members to prepare food and not offer me a constant supply of morsels. They fail to realise that I do this merely for their own benefit – where would they be without a taste-tester?!
With thoughts of tasty titbits causing a little rumble in my tummy I bounded up the stairs – maybe I might find a discarded bonio hidden in a corner of the upper storey. Alas, I had no such luck but what I did find were no less than three large double bedrooms and a super-stylish family shower room.
All in all this would offer the perfect accommodation for me and my human family. Feeling satisfied that 20 Selkirk Road is a fabulous example of a family house I headed back downstairs ready to explore the garden. Imagine my surprise when, just outside the kitchen I was met with another building (which dad informed me was originally the garage) – thoroughly intrigued I stepped inside and found myself in a large self contained room – currently used as a second sitting room/games room, the opportunities were endless – a home office, a playroom, an art studio, a home gym…. Just when I thought this lovely house had no more surprises in store, it had astounded me with this little gem! The outside space is equally pleasing with lawns at the front and rear as well as a large bricked paved area at the side of the house where several cars could be parked.
All in all 20 Selkirk Road seems to me to be the perfect family home in the perfect location – within walking distance of the city and yet close to the Cheshire countryside as well as within easy access of all the main road networks. If you agree and think that this Curzon Park property could suit as your next home please do not hesitate to give myself or one of my team a call on 01244 322322 to arrange a viewing.
Until next time
