On Tuesday this week Rickitt Partnership was delighted to host Bob Bickersteth from the London Office. Bob was keen to meet the members of the team who were new to him and was very complimentary about our city centre office.
Our very own Tim Rickitt and Bob go back many years as Tim worked with the London Office with his previous company Rickitt Grant. Whilst Bob was with us, we couldn’t resist recreating this photo from 2000. Well the years have been kind, Tim and Bob look as youthful as ever!
It was really useful to explore Bob’s perspective on the property market and, in particular, its relationship to London. Bob also met with a number of vendors and prospective clients and was able to provide them with invaluable insight into the recent buying trends in London and how that might affect their potential sale in Cheshire to an out of area buyer.
The London Office was set up in 1992 and acts on behalf of regional agents to promote their client's properties to a wider audience. They act for 38 independent firms of Chartered Surveyors and Estate Agents, with a total of 228 offices. They have agents covering the entirety of the UK from Cornwall to Scotland and pretty much everywhere in between.
Based in the heart of central London, it is their aim to assume the role of the London marketing arm for out of town agents, enabling clients to have the best of both worlds – superlative local representation with the added benefit of full national and international marketing.
The London Office is always looking for innovative ways to find prospective buyers for their agents and one very successful way in which they do this is with the annual "London & Country Property Show". This is a great way of getting potential London-based buyers and regional agents in touch with each other.
Like us, our London colleagues are also very conscious that you cannot trade on reputation alone. In the rapidly changing estate agency industry, it is essential to be proactive, embracing modern technology alongside traditional methods, to ensure that clients always receive the best service. One huge benefit to working with The London Office is that we have access to their vast network of regional agents. All of the agents who are involved in The London Office offer a very professional and personalised service and we communicate regularly with the other agents, keeping abreast with market trends in other parts of the country. The entire network ensures that potential buyers from out of area are put in touch with properties that may be right for them.
The London Office also produces their own very glossy property magazine, 'Acquire', which contains a wide selection of property from the United Kingdom and abroad and is distributed nationwide.

Another string to The London Office’s bow is that they also have an International property department which skilfully caters to the growing interest in overseas property. The Overseas department is run by Paul Baxter who has worked in the property industry for over 20.
